Raw Chestnut Honey

Dark, aromatic and distinctly less sweet than many traditional honeys, our Raw Chestnut Honey is produced from the blossoms of the sweet chestnut tree (Castanea sativa) in Galicia, Spain.

Its rich, woody flavour develops into a pleasantly bitter finish, making it an excellent choice for anyone who prefers honey with depth and character.

Why choose Chestnut Honey?

Chestnut Honey offers a completely different experience from mild, delicate varieties such as Acacia. Its bold aroma, complex flavour and lingering finish particularly appeal to people who find conventional honey too sweet.

At Bee Mercy, we believe honey should be explored in much the same way as coffee, cheese or olive oil, each variety has its own origin, aroma and character. Chestnut is one of the boldest honeys in our collection.

From Galicia, Spain

Galicia’s green landscape, chestnut woodlands and Atlantic-influenced climate provide the setting in which this distinctive honey is produced.

Honey is a natural agricultural product, so its colour, aroma, flavour and texture may vary subtly between harvests.

How to enjoy it

  • Drizzled over mature or blue cheese
  • Served as part of a cheeseboard
  • Spread over warm toast or sourdough
  • Stirred into natural yoghurt or porridge
  • Added to dressings and marinades
  • Used to bring depth to baking and cooking

GOOD TO KNOW

Raw and naturally variable

Our Honey and Bee Pollen is raw and unpasteurised carefully handled to preserve its natural character and distinctive flavour.

Raw honey may naturally thicken or crystallise over time. This is completely normal and does not mean that the honey has spoiled. Its texture and rate of crystallisation may vary between harvests.

If you prefer a more liquid consistency, place the closed jar in warm water and allow it to soften gradually. Avoid boiling water or overheating the honey.

Quality and authenticity

We choose honeys that offer something genuinely distinctive, not simply another jar of sweetness. Each variety is selected for its origin, flavour and natural character, then laboratory tested for added reassurance. This careful approach allows you to explore the remarkable differences found naturally across our collection.

Storage

Store at room temperature in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Always close the lid securely after use.

Not suitable for children under 12 months.
